We were on a little vacation to Chicago and we had burrowed Terry’s Dad GPS System. For the most part those things are awesome! However it doesn’t ALWAYS help. And sometimes I was getting irritated at “BERTHA” (that’s what I named the stupid thing!) I said “This dumb thing doesn’t know what it’s talking about!” Later a couple days in to our vacation we were with our friends the Corricks and we were finding out where our concert was and fixing up Bertha. And McKenna informed the whole van…
McKenna: “Don’t listen to “Bertha” she doesn’t know what she is talking about!”
Everyone was cracking up! Just goes to show you that kids are listening to you even when you think they are not!!!

Baby Safia Danielle Jones! She was born July 9, 2008. She was 5lbs. 10oz.
This is the first time ever that I wasn’t there within a day that any of my nieces and nephews were born and IT SUCKS!!! But hopefully I will get to see her soon. Till then here are some pictures that I got via the internet.

We had such a nice RELAXING 4th of July I can hardly stand it! We went to West Burlington because they were having a ton of festivities. Sweet little McKenna asked “Is it was going to be a far drive?” (For those who don’t know West Burlington is right next to Burlington so no travel time. It was so cute.
There were jump houses / blow up climbing stuff, a duck pond, pony rides, a train ride, a parade, live music, and at the end of the night an AWESOME fireworks display! And you know what WE DID IT ALL!!!!!!!!!! After a very long day went went to bed. Too many pictures to choose from so I put together a little video.
It was so nice to just spend time with my family and just enjoy the day! Happy 4th of July to everyone.

Terry & I were taking McKenna to her swimming lessons and right by the pool there are tennis courts. That is were this conversation started…
Terry: McKenna did you know your mommy used to play tennis?
McKenna: You did mommy?
Me: Yep! I did in High School.
McKenna: Did you really?
Me: Yes!
McKenna: Are you serious or are you just teasing me?
Me: What? Is it so hard to believe that I did something athletic?
McKenna: Well…YES It is!
Me: Gee thanks Mac!
You know they only speak the truth and most the time it is hilarious!!!!!

I just signed McKenna up for Kindergarten round up! I can not believe my BABY is going to be in kindergarten this fall. She is way excited and me… well lets just say I am going to invest in a really BIG lock on her door so she can’t go 😦 ! Where did the last 5 years go it feels like she was born and I blinked and BAM! shes going to kindergarten! Great fun for her not fun for Mommy. I know she will do great and I know she will make great friends. Is there ever a point that a parent is able to stop worrying? I doubt it because I am almost 30 and my Parents still worry about me. Not that I blame them because I can sure get myself into some hairy situations! But that is for another day another blog ;)! So I have decided to cherish everyday and try not to let the little things get me down. Not sure how it will go but for today it sounds good to me!
Pinky Square…

that is what McKenna calls “Pinky Swear”. With that being said I was talking to McKenna today at lunch time and I said “Pinky Square that you will take a nap for Daddy today.” She said back “I pinky square”. But when she got inside she said to her Daddy “How many times do I have to pinky square mommy?” Terry said “I don’t know. How many?” McKenna replied “One too many!” Ok on one hand I want to know who taught her to talk so big and on the other I want to close my eyes and never forget these precious days!!!
